American Medical Association Interested in Medical Marijuana
“Despite more than 30 years of clinical research, only a small number of randomized, controlled trials have been conducted on smoked cannabis,” said Dr. Edward Langston, an AMA board member, noting that the limited number of studies was “insufficient to satisfy the current standards for a prescription drug product.”

The decision by the organization’s delegates at a meeting in Houston marks another step in the evolving view of marijuana, which an AMA report notes was once linked by the federal government to homicidal mania. Since California voters approved the use of medical marijuana in 1996, marijuana has moved steadily into the cultural mainstream spurred by the growing awareness that it can have beneficial effects for some chronically ill people.

 Legalize Marijuana
People have been saying “Legalize Marijuana” for the past 20 odd years but only when a financial crisis comes about does government start to listen.  Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) has proposed a measure that would legalize and regulate marijuana sales in California.

In light of the state’s economic woes, the proposal is attracting considerable interest — particularly in the wake of a report released Wednesday that indicates a marijuana tax could increase state revenue by as much as $1.4 billion.

“There’s no doubt that the ground is shifting on marijuana,” says Ethan Nadelmann, executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance, which promotes alternatives to the war on drugs. “The discussion about regulating and taxing marijuana now has an air of legitimacy to it that it didn’t quite have before. And the economy has given the issue a real turbo-charge.”

How To Brew Marijuana Tea For Medicinal Purposes(quotes)
This may be a way for people who take medicinal marijuana to get the benefits of THC without the carcinogenic effects of smoking.

You can use leftover sticks, seeds, stems and leaves that you would not smoke for any of the following brews or use enough weed to make a joint (about a gram).

As THC bonds to fat, all these recipes have a fat,  milk, butter or chocolate, in them to help the body absorb THC and it’s effects.

1. Plain Marijuana Tea – Use your “leftovers” or a gram of weed and grind it well into as tiny pieces as possible. Place all the contents into a tea ball and then boiling hot water for about 10 minutes.  You can add black teas, green teas, or rooibos to this tea.  Try different things and see what you like the taste of.  Add hemp milk to help the THC bond.  Other vegan substitutes are almond milk, oat milk and any type of nut milk.

   2. Marijuana Tea w. Butter - This is a style of tea that is prepared in a similar way to Nepalese Yak Butter Tea.  To make marijuana butter tea in a nutshell, you need a cup of hot boiling black tea, and a tablespoon of marijuana butter.  To make it Nepalese style, add a dash of salt and cream to your liking.

   3. Marijuana Tea w. Chocolate Powder – For those who like to make marijuana brownies, this would be the same idea but in a tea form. Use plain marijuana tea as a base and add a tablespoon of chocolate powder and drink.
